Work of Art- Wallpaper Art DIY

Work of Art

Well, ladies and gents, we made it to Thursday!  Just two more days to get through before the weekend.  As the madness of this week continues, so do my attempts to simplify my life.  My wardrobe was simplified yesterday, today I tackle home decor.

In my home, the soaring cathedral ceilings are a mixed blessing.  I love the feeling of light and airiness they provide the space.  I despise trying to figure out creative ways to decorate the massive walls without dropping a fortune on artwork, fabrics, etc.  Well, I think I found my solution!  I had my Oprah-esque “A-Ha! moment earlier today when I was browsing Etsy and came across some wallpaper samples in great patterns, colors and textures.  I decided that what better (and cheaper) way is there to cover a huge wall, than with framed and matted wallpaper!  I am now in the midst of planning out a full gallery wall of gorgeous prints.  I am eager to introduce more fun pattern and color into my great room, and plan to tie it all together with matching sized mats and white frames that will pop against the khaki colored wall (Sherwin Williams Quiver Tan (SW6151)).  I’ll make sure to post a full before & after reveal when this little project is completed.  In the meantime, take a look at some of the photos that have me inspired to create my own work of art!
