Rustic Industrial

As my husband will attest, my constantly changing design whims are inevitable.  As soon as I think I’ve nailed down what I believe is my “personal design aesthetic,” I get inspired by something I see- in bars, in restaurants, on TV, in public restrooms… basically anywhere.  My latest home design crush is the rustic industrial look: reclaimed wood surfaces, worn beams and rustic textural elements complimented by modern, industrial details, fixtures and accessories.  Our master bedroom has subtle notes of this style and after three years, it’s still my favorite room in the house. I realized yesterday as I was posting about Prato, in Winter Park, FL that one of the things I loved best about the restaurant was the space. The cool garage style glass sliding doors worked perfectly with the rustic wood tables and booths, while the industrial light fixtures just cast such a warm golden glow over everything. Anyone have a spare house for me to decorate?!

Even the smallest touch of greenery adds so much pop and personality to the space.
