Odds & Ends

A New Beginning.

a new beginning The Heart's Delight Stella Compiseno

After a few very stressful days (and brief unintentional posting hiatus), I am so relieved to introduce you to the new and improved, THD- or The Heart’s Delight, if we’re being formal. It couldn’t come at a better time either! It’s the beginning of a new month and a new season, so why not get a new virtual look to match?! There will be a little tweaking here and there as we all get used to the new format and layout but overall, I feel like the design is such a breath of fresh air and more representative of my individual and professional personality. I hope you like it, too.

Since I’m totally over staring at a computer screen for a little while, I’m going to keep today’s post short and sweet with a little preview of my next styling challenge. Have you heard about PROJECT333? I’m not sure when I first came across this “movement,” but as I strive to simplify my life, I thought there is no better place to start than with my closet. Your wardrobe has the ability to transform the way your feel about yourself, so why not do what you can to feel great about your wardrobe?

The founder of Project333 made a very simple decision to whittle down her existing wardrobe to a seasonal capsule collection of 33 items to wear over the course of 3 months. Impossible (a.k.a. bat-sh*t crazy), you say!? Perhaps, but a challenge I am willing to take on with a few minor amendments- I am not including shoes, coats, handbags or accessories in my style capsule and I’m going to test out the 333 lifestyle for only a month (to start). As per THE OFFICIAL RULES, undergarments, workout clothes and sleepwear don’t count (although mine could definitely use a good edit as well!).

I’m hoping to make getting dressed each morning a pleasurable exercise, shed some unnecessary “stuff” (both mental and physical) and best of all, rediscover my personal style. So off I go to begin my closet massacre… Tomorrow, you’ll see my full edited Fall/Winter 2014 collection and my guidelines for building a seasonal capsule collection of your own!
