The Chunky Sweater

Capsule 1.2 Chunky SweaterWhen I’m scrolling through all of those PINTEREST and INSTAGRAM posts this time of year, I can’t help but notice the abundance of cozy scarves, pumpkin spiced candles/lattes/cookies/cakes/pies and of course, the chunky sweater. Given that my body temperature is always abnormally low (seriously, I’m freezing 90% of the year), the oversized, chunky sweater is the perfect cold weather companion for someone like me. It’s comfortable, it’s warm, and it does a pretty phenomenal job at hiding that post Thanksgiving dinner food baby. Generally, I’ve paired it with super casual denim, but for this week in Napa I thought it would be an ideal travel piece that could take me from plane to vineyard tasting.

Let’s discuss one last thing before we part ways… the 1/2 tuck. Honestly, I’ve never tried to tuck in a sweater before this season.  After seeing all of the fashionistas master the 1/2 tuck during fashion weeks worldwide, I gave it a shot.  What do you think?  I think I sort of love it… especially with this skirt.  It really shows off the multi-layer detail of the design and makes me feel one step closer to the “I woke up like this” phenomenon- just easy, mellow and laid back. At least in appearance. Perhaps after a few more glasses of wine, in spirit too! On that note…

I agree that your half-tuck shows off the great detail on that gorgeous skirt. I’ve been watching this trend too and wondering if I could pull it off.

Do it! The half tuck is a great way to keep an oversize sweater from boxy, shapeless territory. Kind of the best of both worlds! XO, Stella
