While I’ve spent the last 6 months streamlining my closet, removing unnecessary clutter and minimizing recreational shopping, sometimes you just have to break your own rules. #YOLO, right?
Have you all heard the news that PIPERLIME (a GAP company) is going to be shutting down later this April? The executives at GAP made a decision to unwind the retailer and instead refocus on its in-house brands: GAP, Banana Republic and Old Navy. For a few years now, Piperlime has been my go-to for scoring online deals on designer basics, so I was kind of bummed to find out that my promo code/sale mecca would soon bite the dust.
When I received a promotional e-mail this morning that Piperlime would be adding an ADDITIONAL 60% OFF its final sale merchandise (with promo code: STOCKUP) , I jumped at the chance to get one last good shop in to pick up a few pieces that I’ve been wanting to replace or update. Even though this is clearance merchandise, there are still some awesome deals to be had on classic basics. I HIGHLY recommend you take a quick look and take advantage of what I think are some great bargains… because when they’re gone, they’re gone!
Here are some of the items that made their way into my virtual shopping basket:
I’ve been wanting to update my blazer collection for a while. I kept wishing I had a long-line blazer to layer over tees/knits with a pair of jeans (kind of like the image above!). Anyway, this one fits the bill perfectly as I love the double-breasted silhouette and from the reviews it seems the material is a softer, less structured blend- ideal for the more casual styling I had in mind!
Here’s a closet secret- I just got rid of a pair of mid-heel Loeffler Randall boots that I purchased in 2004. Even 10 years later, they were still in style (and oh, so comfy!) but just had seen better days even with constant love and shoe cobbler care. I knew I wanted a replacement but hadn’t come across the ideal toe shape/heel combo. I love the ‘Minetta’ because they’re dressy enough to wear out at night, yet the block heel makes them casual and comfortable enough for me to wear them midweek as well when I’m running around town. They were also only $103 (orig. $695) after the extra 60% off!
Every woman should own a 100% silk blouse. That’s one of my styling rules. For $35, you have no excuse. That’s why I loaded up on two of these staples. A small sizing note: I ordered a size up in these as I prefer a looser, drapier fit that looks effortless with a great pair of jeans and high heels on the weekends.
I’m a striped shirt lover. A good stripe is about as wild as I get when it comes to patterns. This shirt has an easy, boxier, slightly-cropped silhouette that I thought would pair up well with floaty skirts come this spring.
You guys may have seen me post about this skirt a few days back? Refresh your memory HERE. This skirt is basically a walking party. That’s why I love it. I also love the $30 price tag. Since it’s not exactly something I can wear more than a few times each year, I was happy to find it for such a steal.
7. TOWNSEN ‘BLISS’ JACKET:
Unfortunately, I was not the only one who quickly snatched this jacket… it managed to sell out at the sale price in less than 2 hours! Sorry guys. Fortunately, there are a few more options on sale that come pretty close- THIS or THIS. All three styles have a similar structure to them and could be styled easily for work and/or play!
That’s a wrap on my Piperlime haul! Hope you have as much good shopping luck as I did.
