A Plaid Shirt For All Seasons

As a stylist, the time frame between the end of August and Mid-October is definitely one of my busiest as people make the transition to their fall/winter wardrobes, swap out their seasonal closets and fill in gaps new purchases. I’ve worked with practically every age, shape, size and style of woman and this past week I’ve noticed that the common style thread running through all of them is their love for a good plaid shirt.

I mean, who doesn’t like plaid?

With so many colors and patterns of plaid to choose from, there is definitely something for everyone. As far as fit goes, I always recommend a longer fitted silhouette (a rounded shirt-tail hem is my favorite!) that skims the body without any gaps around the chest area, or pulling at the shoulders or armpits. Since plaid is such a great cold weather staple, a fitted version is the best way to take advantage of all of the different styling options a good plaid shirt can provide.

Ever think your most broken in plaid could be dressed up for a night out? Well, based on the photos above, clearly it can! I know what I’ll be wearing this weekend…

How will YOU be wearing your plaid?
