And so begins another week…

However, when you’ve got a soft burgundy suede jacket in your arsenal, it’s not such a bad beginning.

I’ve been pining over burgundy suede for quite some time. I wanted a bit of color, a bit of texture and a versatile piece that I could wear through all seasons. Over the past few years, the motorcycle jacket has practically become my “signature” piece so when I spotted this burgundy suede moto topper, I knew it was meant to be.

What I’m Wearing:
Moto Jacket — BLANK NYC // Tank Top — FOREVER 21 (no longer available, THIS is similar + a great price!)// Denim — J BRAND (no longer available, THIS is similar!)// Sneakers — NEW BALANCE // Tote Bag — ALEXANDER WANG (no longer available, THIS is similar!)// Bandana — URBAN OUTFITTERS

Just like a good relationship, you just know when it’s right!

A quick note on the jeans — I picked up these high-rise, frayed hem J Brand jeans a few months ago (they’ve since sold out — but THIS is a great dupe for a steal!) and they’ve been a fun piece to work with. The high-rise is a bit of a style risk for me — I’m more of a mid-rise girl, but I’ve had fun playing around with proportion. High-rise styles are best for tucking in tops to create that hourglass figure we all crave: small waist with defined hips and bottom.

Hello, booty!

A word of caution for all of your short-torsoed women: if you’re not careful, a high rise can be TOO high for your body and practically sit under your boobs. No one wants to look like the fifth Golden Girl, so definitely make sure to try on a few brands and styles to find your best fit.
