As much as I love going out, there is nothing better and more restorative than staying in after a long week.
Who would have ever thought the couch would become the VIP lounge of my social life!? It’s good to know that I’m not alone in this preference. Apparently, there is a whole dating subculture devoted to “Netflix & Chill!”
Kids these days…
Whether you’re young or old(er), single or married with kids, one thing we can all agree upon is that sometimes those lazy nights in, turn out to be the best and most memorable — so why not dress for the occasion? It’s all too easy to throw on our favorite pair of elastic waist pants and a faded 20-year-old high school t-shirt (at least that’s my go to!), but it’s nice to have something a bit more elevated to keep you comfortable and stylish.

Just like my “going out” clothes, I like to have some consistency with my “staying in” clothing options. I recommend that clients pick a color scheme for their athleisure and workout wear, so that mixing and matching becomes second nature. Nothing too set in stone or formal, just a framework of colors that you love to ensure that every piece that you add to your casual wardrobe gets seamlessly integrated.
While on the topic of colors I love, I never thought I’d be a fan of pink… especially when it comes to my sneakers. That being said, I absolutely LOVE the NIKE AIR MAX THEA… unfortunately, they’re now waitlisted in most sizes. I found a really SIMILAR PAIR over at Barney’s and yes, they’re fully stocked!
Also, since we’re talking about cool sneakers… I’ve been wearing my own pair with practically everything in my closet — even dresses. I love the RAILS SHIRTDRESS featured above for it’s versatility. It looks just as great with a pair of sneakers as it does with a LEATHER BELT and pair of ANKLE WRAP HEELS. Perhaps, that’s just the look you need to motivate you to get off the couch, turn off the TV and get out!
What do YOU wear when you’re staying in?
