Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens,
Bright copper kettles and soft woolen mittens…
Sorry, I couldn’t help it!!
I just watched the Sound of Music with my daughter last night and I’ve got all of the Julie Andrews’ goodness stuck in my head! Ear worm aside, there have been so many cool things that have caught my eye and stolen a piece of my heart over the past few weeks.
Here are just a few of my December favorite things:
Kevin Murphy YOUNG.AGAIN Treatment Oil
Prior to heat styling my hair, I always, always, always apply a leave-in treatment to condition, protect and help hold the style. For years, DAVINES OI ABSOLUTE BEAUTIFYING POTION has been my go to, but all good things must come to an end. When my bottle finally ran out, I asked my hairstylist for a recommendation and she told me to try this Kevin Murphy YOUNG.AGAIN product. It took me all of 2 washes to fall in love with my new treatment oil. It’s a really light formula that doesn’t weight hair down or make it greasy. Instead it softens and smoothes and leaves my hair feeling (and smelling) fantastic. It’s also paraben free, for those of you who are particular about any chemical additives.
Tatcha LUMINOUS Deep Hydration Firming Serum + SUPPLE Moisture Rich Silk Cream
Doesn’t it seem as though all of your go-to products always run out at the same time?! That was definitely the case this month. In addition to my hair product, my skin care products were also on their last legs.
Now, when it comes to beauty and skin care I try to switch up my regimen every 3-4 months. I find that beauty products work better if your skin is not overly conditioned to them and it gives me a good excuse to make adjustments based on the season, or weather. This winter cycle, I decided to try something new with TATCHA and their LUMINOUS serum + SUPPLE moisturizer. Based on Far Eastern skin care philosophies and using ingredients from that region, TATCHA channels its beauty inspiration from traditional geishas. You know, those Japanese hostesses with the flawless skin!?
Not a bad place to start.
Miss Jones Baking Co.
Last week, I spent a fun morning downtown with some local Cleveland bloggers and a brand called MISS JONES BAKING CO. If you’re not familiar, Miss Jones, is an all organic product line of baking mixes and frostings which encourages you to “bake it better” — with all of the flavor and none of the fake stuff (no soy, hydrogenated oils, artificial additives, etc).
Guys — the mixes are goooood! If you’re looking for a fun holiday activity, or want to bake up some delicious treats for Christmas, you can find Miss Jones products at TARGET, as well as in local, NE Ohio Heinen’s grocery stores.
December in Cleveland means a lot of warm and oversized knits. To keep me from feeling frumpy, I love a little bit of lace under all of those layers! While the style may lean towards the racy side, this CHANTELLE BRA is all comfort. Delicate, lacy and unlined, you’ll be totally (pleasantly) surprised by the lift and shape this bra provides.
