The instant I saw this top online, I couldn’t stop thinking about it.
Originally, I spotted it on Amber of BAREFOOT BLONDE in an INSTAGRAM capture from the beaches of Hawaii. The rich, saturated colors reminded me of a tropical sunset — and who doesn’t like that!? When I discovered that same FREE PEOPLE CANDYLAND SWEATER in my local store, I knew it was meant to be.
The under $60 price tag might have sealed the deal.
What I’m Wearing:
Now that it’s finally defrosting here in Cleveland, I’m so glad that I have this bold and bright piece in my wardrobe. The FREE PEOPLE CANDYLAND SWEATER perfect dose of warm-weather color to my otherwise pretty neutral collection. What keeps this particular style in my fashion wheelhouse is the one-shoulder cut and modern stripe. Even though this one top is more colorful than my entire closet combined, it still feels like me.
So, what’s my lesson here… because there IS a point to this story, I swear!
If you see a piece that you’re drawn to that might not typically be your style, make sure to consider its other qualities and features (cut, color, pattern, etc.) before you toss it aside or take the purchase plunge. If you find that some of these features line up with your style personality, then I’d say it’s definitely worth it to take a risk and try something slightly out of your comfort zone.
You just might be pleasantly surprised… and the owner of a fabulous new top.
