There is nothing like a good street mural to get me excited about heading outdoors again.
As I might have mentioned over the past few years, Cleveland can be challenging when it comes to styling and physically shooting outdoors 60% of the year. The rain, sleet, snow, grey skies and sub-zero temperatures are far from inspiring. Needless to say, the moment Spring rolls around Cleveland slowly reawakens, it’s always a fun surprise to see how much has changed in the neighborhood.
What I’m Wearing:
When DONALD J. PLINER reached out about collaborating on their #TheArtOfFun SS2017 campaign, the timing couldn’t have been more perfect — because honestly, what’s more fun than great shoes?! I wanted to bring DONALD J. PLINER’S bold, colorful and modern styling and pair it with some of Cleveland’s newest and brightest spaces.
For me, the art of fun is all about feeling comfortable and confident enough to be able to express yourself freely in a creative way. It’s about all things effortless — because if it involves too much thought or effort, you lose the fun. The art of fun is capturing that fleeting feeling of whimsy, like when I stumbled across this random pizza mural in an empty parking lot and proceeded to leap and twirl my way through the scene while random passerby stopped to watch the free entertainment.
(You’re welcome, residents of Cleveland.)
DONALD J. PLINER has always been a shoe brand that I’ve worn and recommended to clients for just that reason. Their luxe designs are inspired by the unique energy drawn from different destinations. The aura of metropolitan rooftops, bright city lights and sandy beaches are all infused into the DONALD J. PLINER designs… and to put it simply, they’re just fun!
Lightweight and perfectly molded to a woman’s foot, these ‘RUE’ SUMMER LEOPARD MULES literally feel like slippers and are perfect for a lifestyle on the run. The leopard print instantly elevates any basic outfit to art-level and is as equally suited for a business luncheon, as it is a casual day exploring the sunny, city streets. The pointed toe and neutral color is also leg lengthening and equally flattering with jeans, skirts or those wide-leg trousers you keep meaning to wear!
