Denim Skirt

This post is coming to you direct from Newport, RI!

I’ve been having quite the whirlwind getaway! If you haven’t been to Newport, I can’t recommend it enough. It’s a beautiful harbor front town with delicious food, scenic views, great New England history and beautiful accommodations. I’ll be doing a full getaway guide in a few days, but in the meantime let’s get back to style!

Today’s post is going to be a quickie, but one I just knew I had to write about. A few days before leaving town for vacation, I ran into H&M (that’s what happens when your kid plays in the fountains at the splash ground and you forget to pack dry underwear!). As I was waiting to check out — why is the line always SO long in there?! — I spotted a really cute DENIM SKIRT that I immediately grabbed.

Now, I know there are a ton of denim skirts on the market, but this one is perfection! It’s a great blue slightly distressed wash, it’s not too short and it’s a flattering A-line cut with raw hem details. Hey, as soon as I saw the $29.99 price tag, I knew it was meant to be.

Since picking up that denim skirt, I’ve been wearing it on repeat for the past 9 days! It’s been worn out running errands with a t-shirt and LEATHER SLIDES, it’s been worn on top of my favorite ONE-PIECE SWIMSUIT as a pool/beach coverup and it’s been worn with a cute RUFFLED TOP. It’s higher-waisted and the slightly flared hem creates a really flattering hourglass silhouette.

Needless to say, it was a fantastic investment of $29.

Just one last note re: sizing. H&M runs notoriously small. I actually sized up 2 full sizes because I wanted a comfortable and relaxed fit. I recommend you do the same!

If you’re not quite sold on the H&M denim skirt, here are a few more that get my seal of approval!
