Sometimes, you just have to step aside and let the Universe do its thing.
Yes, a pretty bold statement, but true nevertheless. It applies to major life moments and surprisingly, fashion too! While in NYC a few weeks ago, I experienced this phenomenon of fate firsthand. I had a meeting cancel last minute and it left me with some free time before my dinner plans. So what’s a girl to do!?
I’ll tell you what: SHOP!
It all started very innocently when I walked into one of my favorite NYC boutiques.
What I’m Wearing:
There was a huge summer sale going one and I was deep into the sale racks when a dress caught my eye from across the floor. It was flirty, pretty and floral and there was only 1 left in the store, which just happened to be my size! I threw it into my dressing room pile.
It was only when I put this VERONICA BEARD DAKOTA DRESS on that I knew it was meant to be. This dress might have fit me better off-the-rack than my own wedding gown. It was flattering and cinched in all the right places and didn’t leave me feeling uncomfortable, or exposed in any way. There was no way I was letting this dress go.
Best. Decision. Ever.
Although, it was definitely a splurge, I’ve already worn this dress 3 times in the last month. As the season has progressed I’ve shifted my accessories from my favorite CULT GAIA BASKET BAG and NUDE SANDALS to a more transitional/fall style.
SUEDE ANKLE BOOTS are one of my favorite styling tools for transitioning summer favorites into cooler fall weather, without looking too over-dressed. While I adore leather motorcycle jackets (I own 3!), this TAN SUEDE MOTO JACKET just felt more seasonal and not as heavy. The white VINCE MESSENGER BAG was the final touch. When all the pieces come together, it becomes the perfect contrasting mix.
Has the Universe sent any great fashion your way?
