I’ve been meaning to post this batch of photos for a few days now, but with all of the holiday (a.k.a SALE!!!) madness they took a back burner. I’m happy now to finally share with you a fun shoot (and girls night out) with some fabulous ladies and obviously, some overdue fashion tips, too!
A few weeks ago, my dear friend Megan — half of the sister-duo behind THE SIS KISS (you can see one of my favorite Sis Kiss necklaces HERE!), convinced me to get all gussied up for a fun night out downtown on E. 4th St. For those of you non-Cleveland natives reading, E. 4th St. is a pedestrian-only cobblestone street lined with assorted restaurants, bars, etc. In addition to scoring some much needed adult time (and a few drinks), Megan wanted to debut her line of clutches.
Hey, when it comes to new fashion, I’ll be your guinea pig anytime!
The Sis Kiss has recently released a new line of real calf hair/leather printed clutches in such fun designs and assorted prints. All of Megan’s bags are made in the USA and are such great quality with thoughtful detailing throughout.
Hello, convenient hand strap and cute tassels!
At $100 for the pouch and $120 for the foldover style (a ridiculously great price point!!), they’d also make a fantastic gift for any special friends or family in your life. Just shoot Megan a message on INSTAGRAM and FACEBOOK and she’ll be your personal holiday shopping elf — you can tell her, Stella sent you!
Oh, and if you know someone vegan/non-leather wearing, don’t worry — Megan has something up her sleeve for them, too! This particular vegan-leather style is ONLY $30 (see image above).
Now, let’s talk fashion…
Just like in home decor (did you read YESTERDAY’S POST yet!?), high-low fashion is perhaps one of the biggest lessons I teach my styling clients. By embracing high-low, you allow a few investment pieces to carry your wardrobe season-after-season, while inserting less expensive trendy styles to ensure you always look current. It’s pure genius.
What I’m Wearing:
Take for example my look…
The jeans are some of my favorites and a splurge by RE-DONE. They’ve been worn countless times and just get better with age. The booties are 6 year old Jimmy Choos (THESE are similar) and I can’t bear the thought of ever getting rid of them. They are SO comfortable.
That’s my high.
Now for the fun part — the low!
Marshall’s (and/or TJ MAXX) is one of my best fashion resources for on-trend pieces that won’t break the bank. I found a FAUX FUR CROPPED JACKET for under $40, and the CHASER BOWIE T-SHIRT for $29. You really never know what you’ll find. My best advice: go in with an open mind and be patient. You really need to take your time and scour those racks for the one-off style treasures that will make your heart happy. Oh, and don’t forget to check out TJ MAXX online! So many of my friends and clients never realized that there was an e-commerce retail component that in my opinion, is ever BETTER than the brick and mortar store.
So, there you go. My early holiday gifts to you.
