Extra, extra! Read all about it!
The newsboy cap has officially been upgraded to on-trend status!
Trees are starting the change colors, the sky is grey and cool rain is in the forecast. I. LOVE. IT. Our new home is surrounded by mature trees and I’m excited to see all of the colorful changes as the days go on. Now, cleaning up all those leaves… eh, not so much.
This weekend, I’ll be up to more of the same: packing, purging + organizing. Not the most exciting of weekend activities, but it’s nice to see an end in sight. I also foresee some fall-inspired cocktails in my future (keep reading for one of my favorites!). Hey, if I’m gonna be home packing, might as well make it fun!
Here are a few of my favorite internet reads, recipes and sales (a.k.a. Friday Link Love!) to inject a bit more fun into YOUR weekend!
It’s time to pillage and plunger one of the best sale events of the season: SHOPBOP! You have exactly 2 days left to get 20% off purchases UNDER $500, and 25% off purchases OVER $500 with code: EOTS17.
By the way, this includes sale merchandise, too!
As you might have noticed, the off-the-shoulder trend has some serious longevity to it. My first post about the trend was way back in 2015!! You can see it HERE.
Over the past year, I think most women I know have invested in some sort of “off-the-shoulder” style to add to their regular fashion rotation. More recently, you’ve probably seen an abundance of off-the-shoulder knitwear more appropriate for the fall and winter ahead.
(All hail, sweater weather!)
Some trends can be “one + done” — meaning you wear that style one specific way and that’s pretty much it. However, the longer the off-the-shoulder trend is going strong, the more I recognize its fashion possibilities.
Here are 2 fresh ways to style the off-the-shoulder sweater that you might not have considered before — at least, I didn’t!
I should probably go ahead and title this post: How To Completely Redesign Your Master Suite So That You Can Party (a.k.a. Watch Netflix & Sleep) Like It’s 2017.
One major thing about homes that I’ve learned over the past 2 months — we definitely don’t live like we used to! Back in the 1960’s bathrooms were tiny, bedrooms were dark and closets were nonexistent. One thing the 1960’s did offer: milk delivery — as evidenced by the milk delivery chute relic located on the side of my home. Oh, and vinyl flooring. Those groovy 60’s ladies and gents sure did love them some vinyl floors!
It’s only appropriate that loungewear/athleisure is the topic of discussion as I sit in joggers and a t-shirt surrounded by a mountain of packing boxes.
Our house packing bonanza is officially in full swing. In between our regular weekend activities and plans, I tried to pack as many boxes as I humanly could before 1) getting an overwhelming number of paper cuts 2) getting tired of my Amazon Music George Michael station (The combination of AMAZON PRIME + ALEXA is a game changer!) 3) getting frustrated that I keep packing and packing, yet the house still looks the same.
Which brings me back to my original topic: loungewear + athleisure.
This week, Cleveland went all blazing hot summer on us, after 3 weeks barely hovering in the 60’s-70’s. Just in time for the official start to fall! Getting dressed becomes much more complex when you’ve already packed the majority of your summer clothes away. D’oh!!
Speaking of packing, I still have a ton of house packing to do. Sometimes, I look around and think, “It won’t be so bad — I don’t have THAT much stuff?!” Other times, I’m completely paralyzed with anxiety about getting it all done.
Clearly, my brain/nervous system likes to keep me on my toes.
On today’s agenda (besides getting some major packing accomplished), is squeezing in some guilty pleasure reading, eating + shopping — starting with these Friday Link Love finds!
