I’ve been meaning to post this batch of photos for a few days now, but with all of the holiday (a.k.a SALE!!!) madness they took a back burner. I’m happy now to finally share with you a fun shoot (and girls night out) with some fabulous ladies and obviously, some overdue fashion tips, too!
As we move along with our renovation — 7 more weeks to go! — I’m starting to really dig into the nitty gritty of the furnishings and accessories required once the finishes finally go in.
Man, it’s a doozy.
If I could give anyone willing to undertake a whole house renovation some advice, it would be this:
While the majority of your budget should be allocated towards the renovation itself, add another 15-20% for those often overlooked, yet very important details.
We’ve all got our vices…
THIS individual’s list of vices just happen to include green juice and boutique fitness classes.
If you know someone who’s constantly on the hunt for their next endorphin high (exercise related, of course) and whose idea of “dressing up” includes their very favorite pair of LULULEMON LEGGINGS and DESIGNER SNEAKERS, then this guide is a MUST READ.
I interrupt your Cyber Monday shopping bonanza for this very important message:
Black + Blue = Winter Style Perfection
Yes, you read that right. The color pair that you’ve long avoided has now been upgraded to “super-chic status” (that’s an entire level above “chic status,” in case you were wondering). Everywhere I turn, I come across this unexpected color combination and I’m not mad about it.
Have you fully emerged from your turkey-induced haze?
I just (happily) sent the kids out the door to see the movie, “Coco” and I’m finally able to collect myself and get back to post-Thanksgiving business! Family time is fantastic and so fun, but it’s also nice to have some peace and quiet without the constant bickering and chirping in the background. I’ve got a very low-key weekend ahead and just might even emerge out of my domestic hibernation to do a bit of in-store shopping! I know, crazy right!?
In the meantime, I’m catching up on all of the Friday Link Love worthy reads and obviously, some shopping finds, too! Hope you enjoy!
Just popping in for a quick hello and to wish you and your family a very happy Thanksgiving holiday.
Even with the past year’s up-and-downs, we all have so much to be thankful for. In the chaos of the holiday, make sure to take a minute of your day to be mindful of all of your blessings, big and small.
(P.S. Make sure to stop on by tomorrow for a special Black Friday edition of Link Love. I have lots of great sales to share with y’all!)
…and so it begins: a new holiday season and a whole new slew of gift guides!
This year, I’ll be posting a fresh weekly gift guide (perhaps with a bonus edition or two!) to help keep your holiday shopping on track and on budget.
I should totally add the title: “Santa’s Project Manager, North Pole Inc.” to my resume! Right?!
Between now and Christmas, I’ll be covering all sorts of gifting quandaries from finding that perfect gift for the person who has everything, to last minute gift ideas for that individual you completely overlooked #GiftingFail. BUT before I get too far ahead of myself, let’s chat about what to get the person who hates to leave their home when it’s cold outside (raises hand proudly!) — a.k.a. The Homebody.
Holy s*$%!!! Thanksgiving is only 2 more days away!
With all of the work, chaos and expense of the renovation, we really couldn’t justify the Thanksgiving trip to NYC this year. I’m definitely homesick and a little bummed. This is the first year in at least 6, that I’m not spending the holiday with my parents and immediate NY family. This is also the first year that I’m not quite as organized and/or prepared for the holiday.
Which ultimately means I have no clue what I’m wearing!
Especially if you live anyplace like Cleveland!
This weekend was especially raw, cold and disgusting and it made me want to go and layer on the thickest, softest sweater I own. My favorite sweaters are those luxe, cashmere knits in classic neutrals that never go out of style and can look perfect (no pilling!) for season after season. However, sometimes when I’m craving something a little bit more fashion forward it’s nice to have cute and inexpensive alternatives.
Wow, did the past few days seem to zip right by. This week was a lot of juggling — renovation projects, styling + THD projects, kid-related commitments/activities… you get the gist. I’ve been putting a lot of stress on myself with this renovation and specifically, the financials of it. Not to sugar coat anything, watching all of your savings get transferred away with a swipe of a keystroke is scary, regardless of how much financial planning and research is done in advance. Knowing we’re only halfway in, with the biggest spending month of the year ahead (Happy Holidays!) had me all worked up – to say the least.
Then I read THE NIGHTINGALE and my perspective on my situation is completely reset.
