Man, January seems to be the month of the Great Purge.
Throughout the year, the needs of my clients shift. There’s always a natural ebb and flow between the shopping/styling requests and the cleansing/reorganization requests and currently, we’re leaning heavy into the latter.
We’re all excited for what the future holds and all of those resolutions we’re trying to hold ourselves accountable for (step away from the cookies!), yet anxious for the same reasons. We’re happy that the chaos of the holidays is behind us, yet bummed that we’ve returned to the regular grind. Worst of all, if you live in my part of the country it’s freezing, overcast and wet. Like everyday. Really. Kiss those beautiful SATIN ANKLE WRAP FLATS goodbye for the next 3 months.
Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens,
Bright copper kettles and soft woolen mittens…
Sorry, I couldn’t help it!!
I just watched the Sound of Music with my daughter last night and I’ve got all of the Julie Andrews’ goodness stuck in my head! Ear worm aside, there have been so many cool things that have caught my eye and stolen a piece of my heart over the past few weeks.
Finding unique gifts for the kids (big and small) is probably the hardest part of holiday gifting. It starts off pretty straightforward when kids are young, but as they get older, our once sweet children become the most difficult parties to please! Ugh, and don’t get me started on those moody, temperamental, too-cool-for-school tweens — challenging, to put it mildly.
If you’re anything like me, Black Friday is simply a day you wear black (it’s most slimming to conceal your Thanksgiving meal sins!), sit in front of the TV/iPad and totally veg out with little to no interaction with the “outside.”
Fighting aggressive crowds in overheated stores and packed parking lots is not exactly my idea of fun. But that’s just me… Personally, I prefer spending a few quality hours in front of my laptop with a coffee in hand on Cyber Monday and totally rocking my holiday shopping list.
We’re back! THIS time, Santa’s sleigh is full of gifts for the guys in your life!
Buying for the gents can be tricky, but I think I’ve got you covered with some of my favorite go-tos, as well as some out-of-the-box ideas. Again, I grouped the gift options into 4 themes — The Boss, The Traveler, The Homebody and The Entertainer to make your selection process as efficient and easy as possible.
Today we’re kicking off of the THD 2016 Holiday Gift Guide series! All this week, I’ll be sharing all of my favorite gift ideas for that special someone in your life. Oh, and don’t worry, there just might be a goody in there for you, too.
I’ll be honest, I couldn’t handle the election result anxiety and fell asleep around 10:30am, only to wake up at 2 am to the news of a new President Elect.
With the 2016 Election results official, (for better-or-worse) this country is headed for major change. Based on the voter turnout and the months-long hostility brewing between constituents, clearly people felt moved enough about the current state of the country to make their voices heard and exercise their right as citizens.
So with new leadership being positioned to take over in 2017, now is the ideal time for us all to consider what all this change means for us and the things we want to see happen for ourselves, our friends and family and our country in 2017. Change is a complicated thing — before anything changes, we need to ultimately figure out exactly what we want.
