The holiday season practically goes hand in hand with all things plaid, check or tartan.
It’s quite festive, no?!
However, once the egg nog is poured (does anyone really drink that stuff?!), all of the gifts are opened and the ball is dropped you’re left to clean up the mess of the holidays and that often includes retiring some of your favorite plaid pieces until the following year. Fortunately, there is plaid street style inspiration abound — and unlike your Singing Santa figurine collection, this is a holiday style that can stay with us quite a while longer!
After the past 2 weeks of relaxed holiday fun, family time, elastic waistbands and no makeup — it’s SO nice to be back. Over the (very, very cold) holiday break, I took some time to think about what I wanted to accomplish in 2018. The year has only just started and already I feel as though it’s going to be one of those crazy years full of landmark events and hopefully, great things ahead.
It only makes sense to set the tone for this New Year with something that impacts every facet of our lives: color. Color sets the mood in our homes (and our closets) and after what has been a trend towards a minimal aesthetic, I feel like the black and white world is waking up and leaning more technicolor.
In a year bursting at the seams with social, political and personal highs and lows, I’m hoping that 2018 is just slightly more tame. This girl is straight up beat. With about 3 weeks left to go before our full renovation is complete, you can also imagine how eager I am to get this 2018 show on the road — in our new home!
So, in the spirit of the upcoming New Year, today’s Friday Link Love round up is all about fresh starts, clean slates, celebrating the New Year and few good shopping finds thrown in for good measure. Let’s get to it!
