Extra, extra! Read all about it!
The newsboy cap has officially been upgraded to on-trend status!
It’s time to pillage and plunger one of the best sale events of the season: SHOPBOP! You have exactly 2 days left to get 20% off purchases UNDER $500, and 25% off purchases OVER $500 with code: EOTS17.
By the way, this includes sale merchandise, too!
Man, this week is rockin’ and rollin. I can’t thank you all enough for your kind words and encouraging comments on the new house and renovation — especially THE KITCHEN! I’ll be sharing more room-by-room renovation details over the new few weeks and hope you’ll help with some of the design choices — next up: the kids’/guest bathroom!
In the meantime, let’s talk a bit of seasonal fashion — namely, outerwear.
In case you haven’t noticed, I’m a pretty visual person.
I need to see it, write it or document it, or it didn’t happen.
Thank goodness for sites like Pinterest and Instagram and most importantly, the handy notes feature of my iPhone to keep my thoughts organized. If I’m going “old school,” a mood board is my favorite method to keep my ideas and inspirations in check. Whether I’m pulling an editorial from my favorite magazine, or a quote that simply speaks to me, I like to keep all of these “tidbits” filed together. Over time, I’ll start to see patterns forming and a color story emerging. Moods and emotions become visualized and from this new intel comes a creative springboard from which to draw from as I write, shop and style.
I thought I’d share some of my favorite images and the looks they inspired for this Fall 2017 season ahead.
Perhaps you’ll be inspired, too.
Sometimes it’s nice to dip our toes outside of our comfort zones.
Whether that’s learning a new skill, trying a new food or flavor, or even testing out a new style of fashion — taking a risk is never a bad thing. Historically, stripes have been unfairly generalized as unflattering, ESPECIALLY when worn on a woman’s bottom.
Well, we’ve come a long way, baby.
Just take a look at these striped pants finds! From wide and bold, to skinny and subtle, these are the pants you’ll be seeing a lot of this season.
Lately, Cleveland has been giving me all of the Fall feels.
Between school starting back up, the cooler temperatures (hello, 60’s!) and even the first hint of leaves dropping, fall is definitely in the air. However, I’m not so willing to give up my summer just yet! Labor Day weekend is still a few days away and as they say, “It’s not over until the fat lady (drinking a pumpkin spice latte) sings!”
If you had a chance to read YESTERDAY’S POST, you might have noticed a bold color creeping into the Fall Trend scene: RED.
As flattering and complimentary as the color red can be, many folks tend to shy away from the bright hue. Red leaves many of us uncertain about how to incorporate it into our wardrobes, or even questioning if the color works with our skin-tones/complexions at all.
Essentially, we opt out before we even give red its fair shot.
I thought I would shed a little light on red and offer up some fun style ideas on how to wear the shade of the season. You know, since we’re good friends and all…
One of my favorite regular magazine features is The In Out List in my monthly Harper’s Bazaar. While most of my fashion reading is done online (and has been for quite some time), this regular feature is one of the few things I actually get excited to see when my mail arrives.
In that vain, I thought I’d put together my own interpretation of The In Out List called, “Buy, Keep, Store” to get you guys as excited as I am for the upcoming fashion season. Hell, maybe it will even get you motivated to clean out your closet, too!
Last night, I was just explaining to my sister-in-law that I was terribly conflicted about posting anything Fall ’17 related.
While a number of you are in my shoes with kids starting school again in less than 3 weeks, I know many readers who have later school starts, don’t have kids at all, or are soaking up every last bit of summer (a.k.a. turning a blind eye to any sign that summer might be coming to an end). Therefore, in order to appease all parties I’ll go easy on you and try to gradually ease into the Fall 2017 pool.
I promise — no shots of pumpkins, fall leaves and Hunter Boots until we’re well into September!
In the meantime, let’s talk about one of my favorite things: lunch. Specifically, packed lunch.
If you haven’t heard about it yet, Nordstrom is having a sale.
(Insert sarcasm here.)
I’m probably a little late to the shopping game, because it seems that every stylist and blogger on earth is posting about this NORDSTROM ANNIVERSARY SALE. Rather than send you on an unnecessary shopping spree, I’d rather share the good, the bad and the ugly about this retail situation.
