There is always a time and place for sweatpants/yoga pants.
Joggers (THESEare my absolute favorite!) have elevated the comfy staple to new levels and now, with the right styling you can wear those bad boys most anywhere (office or workplace, aside). Now, what if I told you there was an equally comfortable article of clothing that was just as soft, just as easy, but would bring your casual style to a whole new level of chic!?
This week, Cleveland went all blazing hot summer on us, after 3 weeks barely hovering in the 60’s-70’s. Just in time for the official start to fall! Getting dressed becomes much more complex when you’ve already packed the majority of your summer clothes away. D’oh!!
Speaking of packing, I still have a ton of house packing to do. Sometimes, I look around and think, “It won’t be so bad — I don’t have THAT much stuff?!” Other times, I’m completely paralyzed with anxiety about getting it all done.
Clearly, my brain/nervous system likes to keep me on my toes.
On today’s agenda (besides getting some major packing accomplished), is squeezing in some guilty pleasure reading, eating + shopping — starting with these Friday Link Love finds!
If you haven’t heard about it yet, Nordstrom is having a sale.
(Insert sarcasm here.)
I’m probably a little late to the shopping game, because it seems that every stylist and blogger on earth is posting about this NORDSTROM ANNIVERSARY SALE. Rather than send you on an unnecessary shopping spree, I’d rather share the good, the bad and the ugly about this retail situation.
How are you doin’ over there? Still with me this morning?
My Friday has not quite started off on the right foot, so I’m resetting and attempting a do-over. To make a long story short, I was trying to help the kids get ready for school and absolutely no one was listening to me. Pretty infuriating, I know. I was “this close” to throwing out the classic parenting line — “Do you know how much I do for you!?” and instead decided to walk away from the situation.
Eventually, everyone got their sh*t together, but it left me with a bad taste — if you know what I mean. Rather than stew in my frustration, I am making the decision to stop overanalyzing (What could I have done differently? Am I a bad parent? Why don’t my kids respect me?!) and let it go. In the grand scheme of parenting, I’m usually a moderately decent parent (like, 80% of the time) and they’re usually really good kids… and in this case, it’s OK to be good enough.
Good thing I have a 3-day weekend and this week’s Friday Link Love to quickly distract me from all of this mayhem!
I’m having one of those weeks where my days blend into each other and I have no clue what day it actually is. I’m deep into spring/summer personal and event styling season and that combined with end of school year activities, rehearsals, recitals, etc. makes for some pretty interesting panicked moments as I prep my daily calendar each evening before bed.
Speaking of bed, the sleep situation has been kind of sh*tty, too. Don’t you hate when you wake up at 2-3 am and start to think about all of the things you have going on the next day?
All I can say is the under eye dark circle/bag situation is REAL. That’s why I gotta wear shades.
While it’s fun to get glam every once in a while, 98% of my existence is spent in a relatively casual state either with no makeup on at all, or with just enough to not scare the small children in the neighborhood.
I kid, I kid.
Seriously, though… I would describe my daily makeup look as a “no-makeup makeup.” I definitely did NOT wake up like this, but with a few strategic products and some helpful tips from the folks over at NORDSTROM, I’d like to think I #nailedit?!
Anyone else spend their President’s Day weekend online (window) shopping?
With the sun continuing to shine down, it’s hard to resist all of the spring fashion — especially when it’s discounted. I decided that there were way too many great deals that it was worth sharing Spring’s best 10 under $50 finds with YOU!
Anyone else feeling completely spent after this intensely packed short work week? The summer season is officially behind us and it seems like we all got right back to business with a fire burning under our a**. My calendar is PACKED and the month just started!
