Well, that was quick.
I remember only recently posting about kicking off summer and now, here we are — Labor Day weekend.
The mini handbag is trending hard this season.
As you may already know, I believe that summer ensembles could use an accessory or two in order to spice up the scanty clothing that often comes with warmer temps. Fortunately, the pint size purse explosion is perfect for adding a new piece that won’t visually weigh down your outfit. And the great part is that these little bags look just like their larger counterparts — no style was sacrificed in the making of these purses.
But with all of the different shapes and sizes, which one will I choose?!
I’m typing this while sailing from NY to Bermuda — we arrive in port tomorrow. Obviously, there are so many great things I want to share with you all about this travel experience, but given the internet situation (pretty minimal) it will all have to wait until we return next week! In the meantime, let’s take a step back and focus on some good ‘ole summer style…
In theory, summer beauty should be about effortless ease… at least that’s what all of the magazines are selling with their bronzed and glowing model spreads.
In reality, summer beauty probably takes about 1000x more work and effort than any other beauty routine during the calendar year. From hair removal to sweat prevention, frizz control to faux tans, real summer beauty is way more complicated than we as consumers have been fooled to think.
Do you find that you’re more drawn to certain types of colors during certain times during the year?
For example, I can’t get enough grey and blush during the coldest winter months. This summer, however, I’ve got a serious case of the blues. If we’re being technical, blues, greens, aquas and teals with a hint of sand — essentially, all of the gorgeous shades typically found in a WATERFRONT SCENE!
Happy official start to summer… two days late!
These late sunsets are like a double edged sword. On the one hand, it’s so nice to be actually able to enjoy the extra daylight hours and really pack in the fun and activities. On the other hand, the longer days and warm weather make me want to be out and about and enjoy my summer vs. sitting home in front of my computer blogging.
